Our Top 3 AW20 Trends

As always with a new season – there are trends galore. So instead of listing them all, the team at accessFASHION thought we’d bring you our top three straight from the runway…

FRINGING

We absolutely love fringing circa the 1920s Great Gatsby flapper dress – but this time round the fringe returned in all kinds of ways. As seen on Harper’s Bazaar September cover, Rihanna wore a stunning canary yellow Daniel Lee fringed trimmed coat. Fringing is on jackets, dresses, shoes and bags. It’s thick, it’s thin, it’s layered and entwined and we love it.

Brands going for the fringe include Jil Sander, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Christian Dior, Burberry, Prada, Gabriela Hearst, Roksanda, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta.

PUFF SLEEVES

Puff sleeves have taken a sophisticated turn for the season in black dresses, print dresses and camel coats. They’re so easy to wear and make a statement with. To be honest, we’re a fan off the statement sleeve all year round.

Puff sleeves are a hit for Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Chloe, Christian Dior, Fendi, Jil Sander, Loewe and Max Mara.

PLAID AND CHECK

Checks are one of our obsessions at AF HQ. We like it in suits, shirts, trousers and dresses, so we couldn’t be more delighted to see the pieces that graced the catwalk this season. Checks are a timeless patterns that can be subtle and chic in muted tones but also in your face bold and full of colour.

Burberry, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Prabal Gurung, Kenneth Ize, Area, Givenchy, Miu Miu and Dries Van Noten are just some of our check favs.

Our advice if you’re wanting to dabble in a little fringe, puff or check is, make sure it’s something that aligns with your personal style. As the saying goes, you should be wearing the look, not letting it wear you.
