If you need a little extra gifting inspiration, look no further. We’re here to showcase five of our favourite British female-owned small businesses, all of which create products perfect to gift to your loved ones. One thing the pandemic has taught us is how important it is to support small businesses, and we definitely should not forget them as Christmas approaches.
Palm of Feronia
For the lover of all things self-care, Palm of Feronia is a sustainable, small-batch brand that celebrates inner and outer wellness. Sophia Harding, the founder, is passionate about creating crystal-charged products from “earth-derived” ingredients that have been ethically sourced.
If the beautiful packaging and wellness message haven’t quite convinced you to shop from this brand, all the products are vegan and cruelty-free, plus trees will be planted on your behalf with each purchase – what’s not to love?
Our personal recommendations would be the Chaga Mallow Mask (50g, £40), followed by the Deep Glow Facial Oil (30ml, £58) and a cup of Pouchong Oolong Tea (25g, £15), the perfect self-care ritual for colder months.

Hannah Beth Fincham
If you are a fan of sustainable fashion and are interested in buying a statement piece, Hannah Beth Fincham could be the designer for you. This young designer creates stunning feminine visions by hand with sustainability and longevity in mind, each piece has a very romantic feel, through ruffles, florals and beading.
Fincham designs her pieces with detachable features, increasing the ways one can wear the item, creating a unique, sustainable piece of clothing. She describes her collections as “not made for a season, but for a lifetime” and this is a motto we can get behind.
If you’re after something a little more personalised, a bespoke service is available to create something unique to you. Making this a truly special gift for a loved one or yourself.

La Basketry
La Basketry is a small business we couldn’t leave off our list. Something from here would make the perfect gift for a home-lover or anyone who appreciates crafts. The founder, inspired by the tradition of basket weaving in Senegal, began to design woven baskets and goods and eventually learnt how to weave them herself.
From picnic baskets to trinket dishes to placemats, any choice from this beautiful brand would be a good one. DIY kits and online workshops are also available for those who enjoy experiences over gifts. Whatever you’re looking for, if your aim is to bring a splash of colour to someone’s Christmas, we can wholeheartedly recommend La Basketry to provide this.

Tula Louise
Tula Louise is definitely made for that person who loves a little luxury in every part of their life. These hand-made artisan soaps are simply stunning and are guaranteed to be a special addition to your bathroom. Their hand-made nature means each bar of soap is completely unique, coming with its own hues, swirls and shapes.
The founder of Tula Louise has described these soaps as “a little canvas for your soap dish” which depicts them perfectly. The bar that catches our eye is the Patchouli & Peppermint scent, the mix of black and white would add a luxe feel to any bathroom.
Who said soap needs to be boring?
